The independent operator of Books2Buy is responsible for personal data processed through this website. Privacy requests and grievances can be sent to contact@books2buy.org. This contact is also used for requests under applicable Indian data-protection law.

• Search information: the book title, author, publisher, ISBN, or other words entered into search.
• Technical information: IP address, browser/device data, requested pages, timestamps, security signals, and diagnostic logs processed by hosting and infrastructure providers.
• Messages: your email address and the information you provide when contacting support.
• Outbound-link information: affiliate identifiers and ordinary referral data when you choose a retailer link.

We do not intentionally request payment-card details, government identifiers, passwords, precise location, health information, or other sensitive content.

Information may be used to:

• return book-search results and safe retailer links;
• maintain catalog quality and understand aggregate search demand;
• operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the website;
• respond to support, correction, privacy, and legal requests; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce site terms.

Depending on the activity and applicable law, processing is based on your request, consent, permitted legitimate uses, the operation and security of the service, or compliance with law.

Books2Buy uses service providers for website hosting, content delivery, database infrastructure, and security. Search words may be sent to Google Books or Open Library to find a relevant book when the curated catalog does not provide the complete search response. External cover providers may receive ordinary request data when an image loads.

When you select Amazon, Flipkart, or Bookswagon, you leave Books2Buy. The retailer may receive referral information and process data under its own privacy and cookie policies. Books2Buy does not control those practices.

Providers may process information in India or other countries, subject to their contractual terms and applicable transfer requirements. We do not sell personal information as a standalone product.

Books2Buy does not currently operate advertising cookies, a login cookie, or a cross-site behavioural advertising system on its own pages. Essential hosting or security technology may process technical request information.

Retailers and external services may use cookies or similar technology after you visit their websites. Their notices and controls apply there. If Books2Buy later introduces non-essential cookies, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before activation.

We keep information only while it is reasonably needed for the purposes described above, legal obligations, dispute handling, security, backups, or fraud prevention. Retention can vary by data type and provider.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the current service. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, and you should avoid sending confidential information through ordinary email.

Subject to applicable law, you may ask for information about processing, request access, correction, completion, erasure, withdrawal of consent, or grievance handling. We may need enough information to verify and locate the relevant record before acting.

You can avoid retailer referral processing by not selecting an outbound store link. You may also contact the relevant retailer or service provider directly about data it controls.

Books2Buy is a general-audience book service and is not designed to collect personal data from children. We do not knowingly offer child accounts or targeted advertising. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent us personal information should contact contact@books2buy.org.

We will revise this policy before materially changing how personal data is used—for example, before launching accounts, saved books, public reviews, or price alerts. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version.
